Pop star and global fashion icon, Rihanna launched her greatly anticipated make-up line Fenty Beauty in the United
Kingdom and then New York(Sephora stores) last week. Riri brought the house down with her brand’s all-inclusive assortment of foundations, which boasts 40 ‘boundary-breaking‘ shades that demonstrate diversity and practically caters to all skintones; from pale neutrals to rich browns.
Fenty Beauty, a passion project Rihanna has secretly worked on for the past 2 years, also features bold highlighters, primers, concealers, shimmer sticks, lip gloss and so many more products with rich, audacious colors and out-of- the-box names like ‘Killa Watt’ (concealer), ‘invisimatte’ (blotting tools like paper, refill and powder), ‘full bodied foundation brush’ and ‘Trophy wife’ (highlighter- which the Valerian star wore to the launch). The line is also convenient and portable with several make-up essentials such as concealer, contour and highlight sold in sets.
The website is seemingly warm, inviting and jam packed with a wide variety of affordable make-up goodies to choose from. Though Fenty Beauty was welcomed warmly by the market, few Rihanna Navy members expressed their disappointment at the line, because it doesn’t emulate badgalriri’s shocking, provocative and unapologetic demeanor or attitude, but rather, its neutral packaging bares a striking resemblance to Kim Kardashian-West’s KKW Beauty range (which she launched not so long ago) and products are available in miniature sizes (customers complained of the same with KKW beauty).
This beauty range displays a softer, calm and more toned down side of the 29 year old muse (from the warm product packaging to her warm radiance in the yellow Oscar de la Renta gown she wore). Bad Gal Riri is serving grown women and we love.
