God’s very first Promise to us was “giving His only begotten son,” found in the book of John 3:16.  For us, as followers of Christ, we should understand that Jesus was crucified, so we wouldn’t have to be.  Jesus was crucified and took all our burdens to bear.  Jesus bled so we wouldn’t have to be hurt.  Jesus took on the experience of a lifetime, being nailed to the cross and stretched wide so we can have eternal life Matthew 27:32-56.   God did not only promise His children life; He promised it more abundantly.  If we so choose to accept that God proactively secured our life here on Earth to be better as it is in Heaven, Matthew 6:10, then we can live our life without questioning or doubting.  It is one thing to read the bible but if we do not believe the words spoken than we really don’t believe God’s promises.  The definition of promise is a declaration or assurance that one will do a thing or assure someone that one will definitely do, give or arrange something.  So, compare God promising us something a promise from our closest friend.  Which will be broken first?  I am praying you said your closest friend’s.  I will take a promise from God any day.  Not one promise from God will ever be broken.  Since we can easily be influenced by flesh, we often make ourselves consider God has gone back on His promise to us because it has not happened based on our timeline.  But, one for sure thing I want everyone to know is, just because we expect a-thing to take place today and it does not- does not mean it will it never happen.  We must align ourselves and stay connected to God’s will.  You know the saying “stay ready so you won’t have to get ready?”  Well, stay the course, be dutiful with responsibilities given to you by God and know when the promises arrive, they will be right on time.  Have comfort in Psalm 119:50, “My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.”
