Twitter Art Exhibit 2017

After the new year I had a bit of a mishap with my ‘less than a year old’ Macbook Pro. Long story, but the hard drive died. This was a bit of a blow, but a month later after data recovery (thanks to Mike) and a full rebuild, I am back in business. What have I been doing? Well. Some drawing (as you can see), making pots (next post) and rubber stamp carving.

It was time once again to submit my piece for the Twitter Art Exhibit, this year being held for the first time in the UK in Stratford Upon Avon. The Twitter Art Exhibit invites artists from all over the world to submit postcard sized original artwork to be sold at exhibition for a fixed price, and the money all goes to a chosen charity. This years chosen charity is Molly Olly’s Wishes, an organisation that supports children with Cancer.

Below is the piece I am submitted this year. Rather than going for my usual heavy ink drawing style, I decided to do a mixed media piece incorporating some rubber stamps I carved especially, and some ink and water-colour.

The stamps I carved into rubber carving block, below is some practice work in my sketch book and on some Khadi paper.
