Neeraj Chopra of India has won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics in the Javelin throw. Athlete Neeraj, who won gold in the Commonwealth Games, is now at the forefront of the world rankings. Neeraj is the second-fastest player in the world in the list of men’s javelin throwers. He has made India proud.

The list of world athlete rankings has come out recently. Neeraj Chopra is ranked second in the men’s javelin thrower category among the other athletes. He scored 1315. The topper is Johannes Vetter of Germany, whose score is 1396. Marcin Krukowski of Poland reached the third position.

His tremendous success in the Tokyo Olympics has inevitably made him an advertising face. Neeraj’s brand value has also increased a lot from the rest of the players overnight.

Why Neeraj did so well?

German experts say – One of the two javelin throwers whom Neeraj defeated in the final round was a German athlete. After observing the weaknesses of the German athlete, a game plan was prepared by the German experts. The experts gave him some tips to surpass the German athlete.

Indomitable wish for winning

Neeraj’s extraordinary comeback after overcoming complex surgery on his elbow and physical weakness is now an inspiration for everyone. After Neeraj’s surgery, the doctors advised him to rest for a long time. He underwent physiotherapy for a few months. It took time for the muscle flexibility to return.

The doctors made it clear that Neeraj could do anything but javelin throw. But he did not lose his spirit. Rather he dreamed of returning back with double enthusiasm. He is now the country’s proud javelin thrower.

Neeraj and his family have faced tremendous financial difficulties to reach this stage. There was no javelin when Neeraj arrived at Shivaji Stadium for practice in 2011-2012. The financial condition of his farmer father, Satish Chopra, was not so strong that he could buy a javelin of Rs 50,000.

So his father bought a javelin for his son for Rs 7000 so that even if it breaks in practice, there will not be much trouble. The son was also very much aware of the condition of the family. He practiced hard day and night battling with his injuries.

Now, he is named with gold medals of the Under-20 World Championship, Asian, and Commonwealth Games. From juniors, youth to seniors of India – all records are in the name of Neeraj Chopra. Neeraj today has javelins worth 3 to 5 lakh rupees for practice.

Satish Chopra explains that his son has made a name for himself and his family by achieving success in sports. He wants that his son should work hard in the same way and win medals. His three brothers and coaches have been instrumental in bringing his son to this stage.
