The burning debate has again come forward even in this pandemic situation regarding Allopathy & Indian Traditional Treatment. The Indian Medical Association (IMA), citing a video being shared on social media, said that Ramdev is saying that ‘allopathy is a stupid and bankrupt science’. Several hospitals, including the IMA, AIIMS RDA, Delhi Medical Association, have written to Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Health Minister of India demanding a case against Baba Ramdev under the Pandemic Act.

A faint line of tussle has been continuing between the world-renowned Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and the Pharmaceutical companies of Allopathic medicine for a couple of years. It has now shaped into a big battle between those who support and promote allopathy and the people who support and promote nature-oriented treatment processes like Yoga, Ayurveda, Yunani, and Siddha. People of allopathy & Indian traditional treatment are now alleging each other.

Many people have raised their voices in support of Baba Ramdev. International Yoga guru Suneel Singh was one of them. In his words, “A Vaidya will be easily captured on trillion-rupee empire. Look forward to the game, this pharma lobby will make Baba Ramdev thrive.”

Yoga guru Suneel Singh also told, “Here the opposition is not Ramdev, it is Ayurveda, because if India again gets used to #CharakSamhita, then in cold fever, people will start drinking #Giloy’s decoction instead of Crocin, in case of bandage in injury or sprain, #Haldi_Pyaz will be replaced instead of injection. People who eat 10 thousand medicines for Diabetes, will start using #Methi #Harsingar leaves, will start eating barley flour. Will a company that promotes medical products 5000 times on Television all day allow this to happen?”

In his words, Yoga guru Suneel Singh reflects the fact that is alarming too, “60% of the country’s earnings are spent only on medical. Companies that are selling tablets of Rs.2.00 for Rs.200.00 will sit with a bowl on the road. Just because of this fear, Ayurvedic formulas will be defamed, the government system will be utilized, media will be bought, political leaders, MPs, MLAs, ministers will be purchased.”

Some people who live a natural life with Yoga and Ayurveda have their own statements. One of them said, “In today’s time, 90% of the doctors are working only as agents of pharmaceutical companies. Only the work of commissioning is going on in the name of unnecessary tests. Presently, doctors and clinics are doing private practice in this adverse situation and are exploiting the common people financially. The government health centers are crowded. So, most of the people go to private clinics or doctors who practice privately.”

They also say that the life of 90% of people is dependent on doctors doing private practice. Those people are not able to give treatment properly, making them financially weaker.

Those who like to live in a natural way and believe in natural treatment stated, “Now the time has come for the central government to take over the entire health system of the country. Combine Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Allopathy. Validate any disease in which any of the three sciences has achieved perfection. This will make someone a doctor, not an agent of a pharmaceutical company or a testing lab.”

The President at Akhil Bhartiya Yog Shikshk Mahasangh released a statement that says –

“The following few facts have come to my mind when I look closely at and understand the sharp pent-up between Baba Ramdev and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the supporters of these two sides, and I think everyone must consider these facts. You can agree or disagree with them.

(i) Ramdev started insulting doctors and commenting in a vulgar way, which does not suit a yoga guru at all.

(ii) This mutual difference is only between Allopathic Doctors (IMA) and Baba Ramdev, some people are making it allopathic vs Ayurveda by force or overzeal which is completely wrong.

(iii) Some people are also associating it with religion and are arguing for taking the side of Baba Ramdev only because he is the face of the Hindu religion. Beg your pardon that our Lord Shani Dev is abusive according to Sanatan Dharma. If I do not consider the science of astrology being a Hindu, then according to me, it is also not right to associate their case with Hindutva. Your views may be different from mine.

(iv) All the disciplines of medicine have equal importance, no medical system is less than any other. Different medical methods prove useful in different circumstances.

Therefore, I request the general public not to be unnecessarily involved in this matter.

You know better than anyone else what will uplift the country, how will be the upliftment of the religion, how we have to carry forward our dignified culture, so please work in that direction.

On the other hand, Mr. Atul Tyagi, the Fonder-Director at Navchaitanya Yog Science & MarmaPrana Healing said, “This is the bitter truth. But the biggest misfortune is that when we have not been relying on our Vedic medical systems, Ayurveda, Yoga, or other ancient practices, then why should these companies not take advantage of them? Around last 60-70 years, such a mentality has grown that our ancient practices have only come to be considered the product of falsehood, ignorance, unscientific and illiterate people.”

Mr. Tyagi also said, “Baba Ramdev’s questions are absolutely valid, tell us which disease allopathic has a permanent solution? Take a pill just like food every day, so it was a solution. Yes, where surgery is required, post-accident help or bone jointing, there is a place for modern medicine. But today blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, cholesterol, etc. have knocked to every house. They have no permanent solution. You have to take one dose daily only for the control till the last breath of life. And together take each other for free, because the solution that you are happy to see in the short term today is going to be even more deadly in the long term.

Mr. Atul Tyagi also said, “A permanent solution of disease is possible with our Vedic systems, whether it is Yoga science, Ayurveda or other systems, because the cause of the disease is eliminated here, not by suppressing disease and making the entire body sick.”

Yoga Guru Naresh Singh said, “Many people have left medicine after adopting Yoga, Naturopathy, Ayurveda and getting rid of their incurable diseases. Our experts will continue to do their work diligently, and one day these people will also have to come to the shelter of Yoga-Ayurveda because yoga, natural medicine, and Ayurveda start from where allopathy does not work. He said, “our Indian institutions have also developed an army of Yoga and Ayurveda. Those people are propagating Yoga, Naturopathy and Ayurveda all over the world.”

In an environment where the allopathic doctors are protesting about the tendency of ‘Mixopathy’ after the post-graduate Ayurveda doctors were allowed to perform surgeries by the AYUSH Ministry. What we think that instead of battling with each other, let us assume a system that will work for the betterment of people abstaining from lucrative offers of the allopathic pharmaceutical companies that compels the doctors to become inhuman.

Let us assume a system that enables the scientific amalgamation of Ayurveda and Allopathy, which can unfold a new method of clinical biotechnology. We have to rethink advanced research and clinical methodologies for the future that will be delivered with advanced digital, artificial intelligence, and machine learning technologies to progress clinical outcomes.
