Visit XAMPP website and click on the download button for windows
*After download,click and run the installation.

*XAMPP control panel is then launched,
*Click on the apache and mysql start buttons each.
*XAMPP will start Apache and MYSQL
*If you see a windows firewall option,click "Allow Access" for both php and mysql to run on your computer
*Once started,MYSQL and PHP application names will be highlighted in GREEN
XAMPP installation is complete and successful.

HOW TO CREATE OFFLINE WORDPRESS SITE WITH XAMPP
1.Visit the wordpress.org website to download wordpress by clicking on the "download
2.After downloading wordpress,extract the zip file,you will see a folder named wordpress,copy it.
3.Next ,go to XAMPP installation folder by clicking on local disk C on your computer.
4.Click on the XAMPP folder,look for a file "htdocs"
5.Paste the wordpress folder you copied on htdocs
6.Click on htdocs,you will see a file named wordpress
7.Rename the wordpress file if you wish to a name you can remember e.g website2
8.Open your browser,type in localhost/website2
9.Open your browser again,type in localhost/phpmyadmin,this will launch phpmyadmin app that allows for the management of database
10.Click on database,provide a name for your new database e.g dbwebsite2,click create.
11.Go back to the browser containing localhost/website2
12.Choose your language and click continue.
13.You will be asked certain questions,fill as follows
*DATABASE HOST FIELD: LOCALHOST
14.Click on submit button to continue (your settings are now stored in wordpress configuration file called wp-config.php
15.Wordpress will ask for information about your website.Enter the title you want to use for your site,afterwhich you enter a username,password and an email address.
16.Once through,click on the install wordpress button to continue
17.Wordpress will run the installation
18.Open your browser,type in localhost/website2/wp-admin
19.Use the user name and password you entered during installation to login
