Arsenal Midfielder Mesut Ozil has fired a warning shot to Germany teammate Jerome Boateng after the Gunners were paired with Bayern Munich in the last 16 again.
Ozil is determined his side will finally get over their last-16 hoodoo this season after being drawn to play the German champions in the knockout stages for the third time in five years.
Bayern and Arsenal also met in the group stage last year, where the Gunners won 2-0 at the Emirates but were thumped 5-1 at the Allianz Arena.
In the two last-16 ties in 2013 and 2014, Bayern progressed, first by virtue of away goals, then with a two-goal aggregate win.
Ozil tweeted: "OK, once again," and international teammate Boateng couldn't resist a reply.
The pair then jibed, with Ozil stating: "New year, new luck," as Arsenal bid to finally reach the last eight.
Manuel Neuer also tweeted Ozil, with a snap of him saving a shot by the former Real Madrid midfielder. Ozil responded with a picture of him beating Neuer, captioning: "True story, mate."
Arsenal have fallen at the last-16 hurdle for the last six seasons. The gunners haven't reached a final since losing to Barcelona in 2006.
