Pollution
One hundred and fifty years ago, the man began, his country had become a place of industry. Factories grew on landscape like weeds. Trees fell, fields were ended up, river blackened. The sky choked on smoke and ash and the people did too, spending their days coughing and itching, their eyes turned forever toward the ground villages grew towns, towns into cities. And people began to live on the earth rather than within it.(patrich Ness)

The word Pollution means contamination or impurity. Pollution, today, has become a grave problem which is destroying the purity of the air, the seas and the land. It is threatening to the survival of living things on the planet earth.

Man is a social Animal and he ahs to fit into the society. There should be a balanced relationship between him and his environment. He is dependent upon other forms of life, upon corn and upon animal flesh and must learn to respect nature and the earth.

Pollution is the result of reckless science and violent technology. It is more visible in its various forms in the advanced societies of the West. It can be seen in the indiscriminate cultivation of land, the destruction of forests and in the extermination of active species. The massive use of pesticide and herbicides in poisoning the ecosystem of the earthy. Industrial wastes and automotive emission represent a major and perhaps lasting hazard to life.

Atmosphere pollution is a result of emissions of carbon monoxide, sulphur oxides and hydrocarbons. It has become the subject of growing concern. It is estimated that currently more than 20 million tons of carbon dioxide is being released in the atmosphere every year. The discharge of these air pollutants is infecting animals as well plant life.,/p>

All the factories give off smoke and gases as part of their normal operation and have harmful effect on the health of the people living in the surroundings. Increasing number of vehicles, aeroplanes and ships not only pollute the air but also cause noise pollution. Vegetation, trees and plants are the natural agents which clean the air. They are being cut mercilessly by timber mafia. high rise buildings, housing colonies and industrial area are being developed on green land.

If pollution is not checked, the solid and liquid wastes discharged in the rivers and canals would endanger marine, animal and human life. this factor is of grave concern because Pakistan depends on its waterways for the fulfillment of so many of its needs.

the problem of pollution and other environment hazards vex the minds of thoughtful people. time is ripe for the formulation of a new morality which would read just our distorted notions about technology and industrialism. Man must establish and maintain a beneficial relationship with the rest of nature. All activities which pollute the earth of waste its resources must be curtailed. If we fail to accept a new morality, we doomed to frustration. the ministry of environment should lodge a campaign in media to prepare the whole nation to fight against pollution. In this way, we will be able to give a safe world to our future generations.
