Twenty-two Ghanaians consisting of one male and twenty-one female are deported from Saudi Arabia.
The age of deportees lies between 21 to 38 years. They just arrived at Ethiopian Airlines flight, the Kotoka International Airport. The traveling certificates were specifically issued by “Ghana’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia.”
However, the Ghana Immigration Service opened that deportees were deported due to illegal stay. On the other hand, one deported lady stated that their passports were seized by the owners were they officially work. The crime of single deportee yet not found.
“One lady by the Georgina (not her real), aged 25 also narrating in her ordeal amidst tears said, she had to escape whilst her employer was out of town to seek refuge at Ghana’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia. Her advice to the youth was that they should stay in their country and work and not to be overly interested in traveling, particularly to the Gulf States because some don’t even live to tell their story.”
