The International Health Care Centre (IHCC), a medical facility which mainly focuses on public health, mainly sexually transmitted diseases as well as HIV/AIDS. The International Health Care Centre (IHCC) has celebrated its 20^th anniversary with aim on the health sector to prioritize HIV/AIDS care in the country.

Dr. Naa Ashiley Vanderpuye, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Medical Director of IHCC, said in spite of treatment being one-third of the 90-90-90 targets, HIV/AIDS care remains ignored in term of funding. Using IHHC as an example, Dr. Vanderpuye explained that most of the people cannot afford the cost of treatment as current 1,500 persons living with HIV who are receiving treatment at the facility don’t have enough money the cost of treatment.

She said that unluckily, a solution that should be helping in this matter which is the National Health Insurance seems to have forgotten some facilities where services provided to clients for as way back as 2 years have not been reimbursed. On the other hand, she maintained that the challenge has not shifted the focus of International Health Care Centre Ihcc from its center mandate of giving services to those who need it.

She added that the devoted staff realized that they have come too far to give up and no matter what the circumstances, they will continue to fight to make sure to provide care to those who need it. Angela Trenton-Mbonde, the UNAIDS Country Director, highly praised International Health Care Centre (IHCC) for the work they have done over the years and offering services to patients.
