The appointment comes less than two months since the investiture of the board by Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, which indicates the significance of having a head for the tertiary institution after Dr. Felix Anyah, immediate past CEO, was relieved of his post.
Announcing the new head of the tertiary organization at a press meeting in Accra, Dr. Boye said that his appointment comes at a time when all stakeholders must effort together to make Korle-Bu “work again.

Dr. Asare has been practicing as a physician for over 27 years with over 17 years in hospital management and clinical care.
He is a key resource person when it comes to clinical care and hospital administration and has served as the CEO of the Cape Coast Hospital.
Dr. Boye also explained that the new CEO was selected after using very important factors such as capability, capacity to deliver on targets and handle the day to day running of a teaching hospital, experience in hospital management, flexibility to adjust to new conditions and new people.
The KBTH board chair said that they have a task and it starts with the right leadership so they believe that today the process has just started to significantly address their challenges and give significant care to all Ghanaian.
