The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has depicted the acknowledgment of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as an interest later on of the young and offspring of the African mainland.
As indicated by President Akufo-Addo, the 17 UN Sdgs “give our age the immense chance to battle imbalance on all fronts, wipe out extraordinary neediness, handle the issues of environmental change, and invert the debasement and unsustainable utilization of our ecological assets.”
It is therefore that Ghana, the President demonstrated, has responded to the call of the SDGs.
“We have caught them in our Co-ordinated Program for Economic and Social Development Policies, which was submitted to Parliament last November, and we have set up a Governmental Inter-Ministerial Committee to co-ordinate and screen the usage of the SDGs,” the President included.
President Akufo-Addo made this known on Friday, ninth February, 2018, when he conveyed the introductory statements at an open address tended to by Queen Mathilde of Belgium, at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana.
The President, who is the co-Chair of the Group of Advocates of Eminent Personalities of the SDGs, noticed that the Group of Advocates, which incorporates Queen Mathilde, has the obligation to advance the all-inclusive character of the SDGs, the engagement of new partners in the execution and financing of the worldwide objectives, energize association with common society and the private division, and to share information and best practices important to help quickened usage of the objectives.
