A suicide bomber has detonated a bomb inside a Shia mosque in Kabul, Afghanistan. As a result, at least 60 people lose their lives while several also injured.
An eyewitness updated media with blast details. He said that the Imam Zaman mosque in the west of the city looks like a front line. Before detonating a bomb, the attacker has opened fire. The worshipers assembled at mosque for Friday prayers.
A spokesperson for Afghan interior ministry said that investigators started investigations to determine the causes of the explosion. Earlier, police in Kabul claimed they had halted a suicide truck bomber that averts a major incident.
No group took the responsibility of attack. However, earlier so-called Islamic State (IS) has directed Shia mosques attacks across Afghanistan.
Moreover, over 20 people killed in a bomb attack against worshipers in Kabul in August. In May, a truck bomb in Kabul killed more than 150 people.
