According to Tullow Oil Plc, it will shut down the FPSO in the Jubilee oil fields in Western Region of Ghana for twelve weeks in the later part of 2017.
Tullow said in its half-year update, the Interim Spread Mooring of the Jubilee FPSO was successfully completed in February and the vessel is now held on a constant heading and secure to the ocean with the turret bearing locked.
According to the statement the Government of Ghana and the Joint Venture Partners have agreed on the need to stabilize the turret bearing and a shutdown of between 5 and 8 weeks is planned for late 2017.
Tullow Oil PLC said, work continues to further reduce the shutdown duration. Planning for the rotation of the vessel to its optimum heading and the installation of a deep water offloading system is ongoing and it is expected that this work will be performed in two stages in 2018 and 2019.
The total shutdown duration for offloading system installation, stabilization and rotation is not expected to exceed 12 weeks.
