The board member of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Nii Ayi Tagoe disclosed shocking statement that young musician, Medikal got only 13 Votes for the category of ‘New Artiste of the Year’ at the 2017 awards.

Well this news will definitely hurt the fans of young musician because they are fighting over the issue that their mentor really deserves such award.

The board member clarified that the people who are protesting didn’t even come out to submit their vote for musician.

His statement is present as below:

‘The people who made noise for these artistes on social media didn’t really go out to vote. Medikal had 13 votes from the general public for the New Artiste of the Year category.’

Before the awards, Medikal was tipped as a potential winner of the New Artiste of the Year and the Artiste of the Year categories by most music analysts. Even though he had the highest nominations of seven, he did not win any one of them.

Although the organizers have published results for the nominees from the votes by the Academy, Board and General Public, the breakdown for each of these three voting groups is mysterious to the public.
