Nana Addo , Presidential Aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has emerged as winner in the Jaman North Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region.

The elections in that constituency were delayed by 24 hours after political party agents, particularly the National Democratic Congress raised up concerns with the voter register.

An emergency meeting called by the parties and the District Security Council (DISEC) for delay of polls on Election Day, Wednesday, December 7.

This was challenged by the Head of Communications at the Electoral Commission (EC), Eric Kofi Dzakpasu who said the DISEC’s decision was against CI 96, the election regulation.

He ordered the continuation of elections. However, elections could not continue on Wednesday. The Commission later ordered elections to be held on Thursday, December 8. After polls, Nana Akufo-Addo achieved 14,228 to win.

John Mahama remains second with 13,007 Votes. The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) candidate Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom came third with 407 votes. Convention People’s Party’s Ivor Greenstreet got fourth position after attained 77 votes.

Dr Edward Mahama of People’s National Convention (PNC) gained 40 votes while Jacob Osei Yeboah earned only 27 votes.

National Democratic Party (NDP) presidential candidate, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings remains last with 19 votes.  Surprisingly, 651 rejected votes were more than an aggregate of votes received by the third to last candidate.
