Chinese smartphone maker Vivo showcased prototype with under display fingerprint scanner earlier this year at Mobile World Congress, Shanghai.

This tech is based on Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensors that eliminates the need for a dedicated fingerprint scanner to unlock or authenticate.

The sensor is placed underneath the display That reads fingerprints.

Two months ago we leaked Xplay 7 to be first to have under the display fingerprint tech. Now it seems the company is ready to unveil first smartphone with this tech.

Color Variants

Vivo Xplay 7 will be successor to the already available Vivo Xplay 6.  The first thing that the renders reveal is that the Vivo Xplay 7 will be available in three colors black, gold and pink.

The leaked images show the smartphone amazing a bezel-less full-screen design. Leaks suggest that the smartphone could boast nearly 100 percent screen-to-body ratio.

At the top of the display, you can spot two cutouts which can either be dual-selfie cameras or a selfie camera and a sensor.

At the back, the Vivo Xplay 7 features a dual-camera setup at the center of the device and LED. Two antenna lines are visible at the top and bottom of the device.

In terms of specifications, rumors hint at a 6-inch edge-to-edge display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. As per leaks phone will be available in two variants – 128GB and 256GB,  along with 8GB of RAM. The dual-camera setup could be 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel snappers with LED flash.

Rumors also suggest that the phone will come with a Sony IMX401 sensors that will support for 4x optical zoom. Keeping the phone ticking will be a 4,000mAh battery. On the software front, the phone might run on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.
