I am a fan of letting a flick take it’s time to tell a tale. But even at a taut 84 minutes, the domestic horror puzzler “Woe” went way beyond testing both this reviewer's patience and power of perception.
I will venture to offer this. And it is a total guess. What we may have here is a sad story about a family caught in an insidious, continuing cycle of severe depression, paranoia and other manner of mental malady. Or, could it be that these giant grim reaper guys aren’t imagined manifestations at all, and they actually are following and terrorizing the holy crap out of this clan?
And what of that extended scene playing out behind a Crown Vic windshield and under the closing credits? The signal of a fresh start perhaps?
Or confirmation of future condemnation.
You see it, you decide.
‘Cuz you sure as hell got me.
