WhatsApp has updated iPhone app with many new features where one can organise, customize images and improve messaging. Whatsapp rolled out the new version 2.17.30 which includes Photo filters, automatic albums and reply shortcut for iPhone users.




WhatsApp has introduced features like adding colour filters to the media that is sent in chats for iOS users. Simply go to the chat area, select a photo, video or GIF and swipe up to pull out five photo filters. These are Pop, B&W, Chrome, Cool and Film. Earlier when we used to send multiple photos to a chat it showed up in a series one below the other, often making you scroll a lot. Now, to make things more organised, WhatsApp automatically groups multiple photos that you send or receive into a photo album to avoid wastage of chat space and scroll.

The other feature of WhatsApp for iPhone users is the messaging app now has a direct reply shortcut. The user can just swipe right on any message to start typing a response to a particular message. Few months back, WhatsApp had added a forward message shortcut right next to the messages. This feature will be useful in the group chat where we chat with the multiple users at once.




Apple shared in a statement that when the users send or receive a collection of five or more photos or videos, they will automatically be grouped together as an album, creating a tile display within messages. When users tap on the album, they will see the collection of photos and videos in full screen. The company has rolled out these features to iOS users only for now and there’s no word on when Android users will receive it. The update has already arrived in the App Store and one can download it for free from there.
