Punjab Engineering College University of Technology

Also known as PEC university of Technology, it is oldest and finest universities of Chandigarh city. The technical university was established in 1921 and in 1966 it came under the control of Chandigarh administration. Earlier the university was named as PEC but in 2003 it became as a deemed university and in 2009 the university was renamed as PEC University of Technology. Spread over an area of 146 acres the technical college specializes in various engineering courses. The university offers 8 undergraduate B.Tech and 14 Post Graduate M.Tech courses in engineering and technology. After becoming a deemed university it has also started PhD courses in various fields of science, humanities, engineering, management and social sciences.

How to get into PEC?

The aspirants can get admission to all the undergraduate courses and post graduate courses offered by the university through national level examination that being JEE (Mains) or GATE. Score well in one of the exams and then counseling sessions will be held. The students will be selected on the basis of their ranks in JEE or GATE. The academic procedure is somewhat similar to IITs across the country.
