Rock Around The Clock

Tags: rock song clock

Rock Around The Clock was a song by Bill Haley and the Comets that helped usher in the rock and roll age.  It was used as the opening song of early episodes of Happy Days, and became one of the standards of the mid fifties era of rock music.  But it was not meant to be a song that changed culture in such a profound way though.  It was originally released as the B side to a song called Thirteen Women, which was about an H-bomb explosion that leaves only one male survivor and thirteen female survivors.
