Have You Heard of TheBruvs? You Need To

News or shall I say “Animation” travels fast! I recently came across this unique, entertaining and fun adult Animation that runs on the channel Dave on UKTV late nights and also on their VoD UKTVplay, introducing: TheBruvs!
What grabbed me first was the colours, the fun vibe and let’s be honest the overall story.
This creative entertainment has some super great history! Having come a long way, this animation is defo going up in the comedy world and I so see why. TheBruvs also won “Best Animation Short award” at the Romford Film Festival for our film Talking with Dinosaurs. Pretty cool right??
Ian Brown is one of the Cult Animation makers, he has been a TV writer and producer for nearly 30 years, he’s known with the celebs as well! Having written or produced for the likes of Harrison Ford, Charlton Heston, Pierce Brosnan, Paul Whitehouse, Charlie Higson, Homer Simpson, Vic and Bob, Ant and Dec, Bruce Forsyth, This Is Your Life, Top Gear, Liam Neeson, Jason Statham, the casts of EastEnders, Coronation Street, Holby, Emmerdale, Casualty, Ross Kemp, Martin Kemp, Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, Des O'Connor and many more.
TheBruvs have also managed to snatch up an amazing deal with UKTV which allows UKTV to have their first animation series and allowing TheBruvs to remain online.
So what is it all about, this cult animation you ask, well the films feature a family of East London villains trying to go straight in a new home in Essex - and failing big time. They usually end up in some sort of violence - usually involving lead characters - brothers Doug and Den Bruv, proving in their case that blood is thicker.
Many people say they recognise the characters - as themselves, brothers or friends. I guess we are part Family Guy / part EastEnders. TheBruvs have proved popular with fans of Brit gangster films.
Which is really cool, because you feel you can connect with the character.
Believe it or not, this is just the very start following an impressive past. TheBruvs hope to develop the stories and films more and turn TheBruvs into an animated sitcom. There has not been a truly successful Brit comedy animation sitcom - despite our appetite for the US juggernauts. While we are a long way off, the hope is to develop TheBruvs and make longer episodes to take on - eventually - the likes of Family Guy / South Park... We are far from that at the moment. But the hope is there. The US ones score well here. Family Guy - boosted by Love Island - got 1.7m viewsa while ago on itv2.
“We have not had any direct help from those I have worked with other than a tweet from Clarkson - in his unique style - calling me Useless. However, we have gained unprompted celeb support from the likes of Linda Robson (Birds of a Feather), Melanie Sykes, Eamonn Holmes, Martine McCutcheon, Gavin Rossdale, Thandie Newton (Line of Duty, WestWorld, Mission Impossible) and Simon Gregson - who plays Steve McDonald in Coronation Street. “ - Ian Brown
Wow, just WOW! Now get watching, let me and TheBruvs know your thoughts and what catches your eye the most! I’m certainly looking forward to seeing the series progress!
