Wearing a gold, ruby and diamond brooch the Duke gave her in 1966, the 91-year-old monarch poses with her husband, 96, in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle.

The couple, who married at Westminster Abbey on November 20, 1947, are framed by Thomas Gainsborough’s 1781 portraits of George III and Queen Charlotte, who were married for 57 years – the longest royal marriage until their own.

Her Majesty wears a cream day dress by Angela Kelly, while the Duke is dapper in a tweed jacket and burgundy tie. The picture was taken by Matt Holyoak of the Camera Press, also celebrating its 70th year.  Click link for full post from EXPRESS.
