Last week might have been a bigger week for for movie news, but with the premiere of Luke Cage, and a slew of rumors making the rounds, we’ve got plenty from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for you from the last seven days.

Doctor Strange

While Marvel revealed a new TV spot for the film while Chiwetel Ejiofor talked with Comic Book Movie about his role in the film. Marvel and Benedict Cumberbatch also launched a charity initiative in conjunction with the film that will donate proceeds to Save the Children.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

The latest rumor suggests Marvel’s comic book Elders may have a role in the movie, but CinemaBlend has a logical argument why that rumor is likely false, though another rumor suggests one character from the film will have a very large role in Avengers: Infinity War. Marvel also unveiled a look at the theme park ride inspired by the characters in the franchise.

You might be surprised to learn that Volume 1 has the honor of being the movie with the most on screen deaths.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Just as filming has wrapped on the movie in New York, there are even more rumors emerging about the villains involved in the story. We also learned that once upon a time, Daniel Radcliffe was interested in the role of Peter Parker.

Thor: Ragnarok

The movie is expected to continue filming for the next month, but Karl Urban has completed his work on set. This is certainly the week for Marvel rumors as several details about the film’s plot have emerged, but haven’t been confirmed. Not to be outdone in the rumor mill, director Taika Waititi teased the appearance of a Comic Book Character in the movie.

Luke Cage

The big news this week is that Luke Cage is finally available to stream on Netflix. If you haven’t started watching, get on that! If you’ve already watched, we’ve got 80+ Easter eggs and references for you to check out. ScreenRant also broke down just why the show could namecheck President Obama even though there’s a different president in the MCU.

The cast has been very, very busy working the press as the show premiered. Mike Colter did a Facebook chat, an interview with NPR, a Marvel Thwip video and an Ask Marvel session. So did some of the show’s villains, and so did showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker with even more cast members. Some of the cast also appeared on an official Marvel podcast while Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi, and Mahershala Ali all spoke with ScreenRant. Ali also chatted with CinemaBlend Erik LaRay Harvey spoke with Entertainment Weekly, and Colter explained in a radio interview why we probably won’t see Luke Cage in any movies.

Misty Knight herself, Simone Missick, shared a behind the scenes image from filming.

While some think Luke Cage viewers might have overloaded Netflix servers this weekend, Quentin Tarantino is one person who isn’t a fan of the modern retelling, preferring the 70s version of the story instead.

Agents of SHIELD

Though the show had the week off this week, we’ve still got plenty of information for you. Not only did ABC confirm the comic book character the new director is inspired by, but we’ve also got a preview of episode four. Clark Gregg was also busy doing interviews this week. He spoke with ComicBook.Com and the Great Big Beautiful Podcast. Gabriel Luna shared an image from behind the scenes.

Costume designer Ann Foley also shared a throwback image to season one from behind the scenes.
