At Least 2 Injured ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Characters Survive to Season 3

Fans of Fear The Walking Dead saw quite a few characters meet a sticky end in season two, but the word is out that at least two characters that the audience last saw in peril are still alive and kicking when season three picks up.

Note: If you have not watched season two of Fear The Walking Dead, which aired its Finale on Sunday, and don’t wish to be spoiled, stop reading now. There are spoilers for season two.

Fans who have been watching season two of the series were left with a few characters in tight spots in the finale, but they might have thought characters from way back in the midseason finale that weren’t seen the rest of the season were done for. Not so - for at least one of them.

Daniel Salazar (Ruben Blades) was last seen in the midseason finale when Madison (Kim Dickens) set fire to the ranch where her family and Salazar’s family had taken refuge. Locked on the property was a large group of zombies and Daniel had been locked up with them. Many fans thought he perished from either the zombies or the fire since he hasn’t been seen again.

Executive Producer Dave Erickson revealed to ComicBook.Com that, “In my mind, he is not dead. What's important is that Ofelia (Mercedes Mason) thinks he's dead because that led to her run....my hope is we will figure out a way for Daniel Salazar to return, maybe in season three....He is not dead.”

Daniel isn’t the only one though.

The final moments of the season two finale saw new character Luciana (Danay Garcia) shot in the chest by what looked like American military personnel as she and her group made their way to the Mexican-American border. Garcia also spoke to ComicBook.Com after the events in the finale and said, “Of course, I'm going to survive! Luciana has to survive.” She jokingly blamed the position her character found herself in on co-star Frank Dillane. Nick (Dillane) was the one who led Luciana and her people to the border, or course.

Fear the Walking Dead will return to AMC with season three in 2017. If you want more zombies on your television, The Walking Dead will return for its seventh season on October 23.
