Paul Cocksedge Studio is proud to unveil a new installation, Bourrasque at 30 Montaigne, Dior’s iconic address in Paris reinvented and designed by renowned architect Peter Marino. Inspired by this artwork specially conceived for Dior, Paul Cocksedge Studio is creating another edition of Bourrasque for Carpenters Workshop Gallery. The piece plays with light and shadow to create the kind of soft, reflected light ideal for a home setting.  Bourrasque – which means “flurry” or “gust” in French – is a free-flowing sculpture that harnesses the wonder of light and electricity. It was inspired by nature and the morphology of paper. The sculpture, which was designed to look like pages that have been frozen in a gust of wind, bathes the surrounding surroundings in light. The suspended artwork is the latest edition of a piece which debuted in Lyon in 2011 – updated with innovative new technologies that allow light to flex and curve in an organic way. “We’ve followed the work of the House of Dior for many years, taking inspiration from the attention to details noticeable in its products. This iconic Boutique was the perfect environment to install Bourrasque as a permanent piece” says Paul. “Bourrasque is the representation of the power of new technology, creating a magical fleeting moment. This is an effortless yet detailed gesture, capturing electricity floating in the air.” The installation Bourrasque will be available to view from March 6, 2022, at 30 Montaigne, Paris.
