Director Todd Phillips’ Joker is pampered with all sorts of love during awards season, and Joaquin Phoenix won every Best Acting award that he’s nominated for. I loved the movie it was just amazing, it’s one of my favorites and one of the best, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to joke about it.

Meet Honest Trailers. They’ve published a new video that breaks down the sad story and points out the reasons why the film became a billion-dollar box office hit. That reason being all of the free marketing it got by the media reporting that it was a serious film, which obviously made the audience more thrilled to see it.
