The fascination of biomechanics


Many tattoo motifs have a special meaning and are symbolic of a certain property. With some skin decorations, however, it is more about an aesthetic claim. This definitely includes biomechanical tattoos: The often large-area tattoos often decorate arms, legs or the back can in principle be worn all over the Body. We cannot look into our body like we can see into a machine and its structure. Therein lies the great fascination for body mechanics.


A biomechanical motif acts like a section from the inside of the human body. You could also say that it turns the inner workings of our body outwards and shows what is otherwise only hidden under the skin. But that's not all: the mechanical aspect is added, since the natural tendons and bones are linked with mechanical elements. A sci-fi fantasy á la Star Trek is projected onto the skin: the human being is shown as a living cyborg, so to speak, which is partly made up of machine parts.
