International Carrot Day

Carrots

April 4 has been celebrated as International Carrot Day since 2003. Which means this important cultural institution was plucked from the garden just four days after this very site. Coincidence? Absolutely. But even though my own history with carrots went through a rough patch, I can say with all sincerity that they are my favorite orange vegetable. (Wait, do Cheetos count as a vegetable?) Go replenish your vitamin A today with a nice crunchy carrot.
