Treat Your Anxiety with These 7 Calming Essential Oils

Following up on our article where we presented a list of essential oils for meditation, today we’re going to look at the matter from a very different angle. Practicing aromatherapy with these natural extracts is scientifically proven to work in many instances. One of which, very dear to us and our readers, is anxiety treatment.

There are a whole lot of Essential Oil Blends for anxiety. However, 5 of them appear to be almost unbeatable with regards to the results you can achieve even in a very short time span. So, without further ado, here’s what we recommend.

1. Lavender

This oil is perhaps the most common one. Though if you want it to work as intended, you must make sure that you’re using only the highest quality of the product in your aromatherapy sessions. Only Pure Lavender Oil has all the calming and relaxing effects you’re looking for. This oil acts directly on your nervous system and can alleviate irritability, restlessness and many more related disorders.

2. Rose

Yet another very popular calming essential oil. Rose oil helps especially with panic attacks, grieving and shock. In a study published in the Iranian Red Crescent Medical Journal, this oil’s benefits came to light after a group of people with anxiety received a 10-minute inhalation of it. After an hour, the average mental stress level was significantly lower compared to that of a control group.

This oil has proven calming and uplifting effects. It instills courage, optimism and soothes fearfulness. If you inhale this oil on the regular, it will help you rest better at night and live your life with less worries. Beware of not using it for too long, however. 4. Bergamot

If you’re a tea consumer, this scent will turn out to be very familiar to you. Bergamot, as a matter of fact, is commonly found in Earl Grey tea. Among the essential oil blends for anxiety this one is very powerful. Using it reduces blood pressure and your pulse rate making you calmer as a direct result.

5. Chamomile

Chamomile scent brings you one step closer to a state of complete peace. A study conducted at the University of Pennsylvania found out that on top of the proven anxiolytic activity, chamomile may provide clinically meaningful antidepressant activity.

That is all! If you liked this list of essential oils let us know. This way we know if this is a topic that will be worth covering further down the line. How many of these oils have you tried out already? Pure lavender oil is for sure the most common, but how about the others?
