Review – Animosity #11 (Aftershock Comics)

Fortunately, this definitely isn’t the case with Animosity, as not only does the core Series continue to go from strength to strength, but the spin-off titles are doing a great job of maintaining that impressively high level of quality. Quote how Marguerite and her team have managed to take the relatively simple idea of talking animals and expanded it into this massive, lore-rich universe is nothing short of extraordinary. Comic creation at its finest, folks. In past I have found the majority of animal characters in comic books to be little more than humans that ‘look a bit funny’. With this series it feels like we’re getting the animals characters’ true point of view, allowing us to share in their struggles of reconciling their deep-rooted animal instincts with their new found intelligence. Reading through the series to date there is a very clear arc that I imagine will finish cleanly but thanks to the superb lore building this series could easily continue indefinitely with brand new characters.
