And his 2017 film Secret Superstar has been living up to the hype it generated all over the world. After raking in the big bucks in China the movie making its mark on Hong Kong too. After over a week of preview screenings, the movie has had a great week, paying no heed to its competition.

On Saturday, the movie’s collections almost doubled, as it collected HK $829,053 at the Hong Kong box office, while on Friday it had collected HK $468,092. The movie has shown great growth so far, with its total collections in Hong Kong at HK $ 7,987,511 (6.74 crores). It seems that the people of Hong Kong are falling in love with the mind blowing performances, just like the audience in China. The film is currently being shown in 93 locations right now.

Aamir recently said, “We are really happy that ‘Secret Superstar‘ has been so successful all around the world, so all credit goes to Advait (Chandan) for wonderful writing and direction that he has done.”

Talking about his growing popularity in the Oriental countries in an interview with South China Morning Post, the actor said, “I believe 3 Idiots was the first film that travelled – here in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China – and became very popular.They saw 3 Idiots, wanted to see my other films, and they went online to search for my other films.” he continues. “After that, there were Dhoom 3 and PK. All these films became popular online – before they were even released in theatres … I’m very happy that they like my work so much,” he said.
