The end of the year…the start of a new one! New Year’s Eve is for everyone, to make resolutions or just party it up! There are plenty of events going on around Boston for adults only and families as well. We’ve put together a list for everyone that includes an array of options.

Adults can have fun all night long at this huge New Year’s Eve party! There’s going to be an excellent lineup of DJs who will keep the music pumping all night long, drinks to enjoy, and an epic night of fun. You can get tickets for 33% off at this link.


The City of Boston has one of the oldest and best NYE Celebrations in the entire country! There will be live performances, cultural demonstrations, library events, ice sculptures, and much more. This event is free and open to the public, going on in Downtown Boston. There will also be a FREE skating show at the Frog Pond!


Enjoy a stylish New Year’s Eve party for adults with a night of music, dinner, cocktails, champagne toasts, and more. Professional photographers will be on site as the fun takes place in the Westin Hotel ballroom. Get tickets for 50% off here.


Happy NOON Year! This party going on at the Boston Children’s Museum will have crazy hat-making, all regular museum exhibits, and a Crystal Ball Drop! All activities are included with regular museum admission, perfect for getting the wiggles out while still making it home for bedtime.


The Boston Museum of Science is hosting an awesome exhibition of trains! Perfect for winter, All Aboard! Trains is a celebration of all things locomotives. All activities are included with regular admission and they’re open on New Year’s Eve for family fun.


Boston Bowl in Dorcester is hosting a New Year’s Eve Kids Countdown! At just $27.95, this is a great way to have fun with kids and families. You will get two hours of bowling {plus show rental}, the pizza and soda buffet, free hats and noisemakers, a fun and lively countdown and a ball drop! Lanes fill up quickly so book in advance!


Boston’s Castle Island is a great place to watch the city’s fireworks display. Dress warm, bring plenty of blankets, and you get a broad-side view of the fireworks display going on at First Night. Castle Island Brewing is also hosting a no-cover party with a toast or two!


This free, public art installation includes choreographed music and lights, starting at 4 pm every day. The show is still going on New Year’s Eve and the next day. The show is at Faneuil Hall with all the regular food and drink vendors, a great way to celebrate the end of the holiday season before you make it home for regular bed time with the kids.


Enjoy ice cold beer and family-friendly activities at the Roslindale Beer Garden! Admission is free when you RSVP. The first 75 people to register will get a free drink ticket. Come dressed in formal or just as you are! There will be crafts, pizza, and other refreshments.


One of the best kid-centered museums in all of Massachusetts is open on New Year’s Eve, just for kids and families! Enjoy glitter tattoos, confetti blasters, a glow in the dark dance party, cookie decorating, a Magic Show, and much more. All activities are included in general admission, just $10 per person for non members!


Boston’s Public Library branches are offering fun New Year’s Eve Day activities, including a Noon Year’s Eve Party, a morning of Pajama Movies, a family story time and play hour, and more. You can also see all of BPL’s public exhibitions during opening hours.
