Jamal Crawford may be moving from a sixth-man role to the starting lineup this NBA season. However, he won’t have to lace up his sneakers or take any shots. Instead, he’ll be delivering takes and analysis as a member of TNT’s NBA broadcasting crew. Andrew Marchand of The New York Post has reported that Crawford is the likely candidate to replace Dwyane Wade on TNT’s Tuesday night NBA coverage. In this role, he would appear alongside Candace Parker and Shaquille O’Neal throughout the upcoming season.

Jamal Crawford is one of the most beloved NBA players of the last two decades. His high-octane offensive skillset coupled with flare and precision endeared him to many fans from 2000 through 2020. Along the way, he received the NBA Teammate of the Year once and the NBA Sixth Man of the Year. He completed his illustrious career with nearly 20,000 career points, 2,948 rebounds and more than 4,500 assists.

Jamal Crawford has remained active and visible to fans in his retirement. During the 2021-2022 NBA Season, he called games alongside former NBA player Quentin Richardson. He also occasionally served as a guest during TNT’s NBA broadcasts. However, this will mark his first permanent role on a national NBA televised broadcast.

TNT will kick off the 2022-2023 NBA season with a doubleheader on October 18, 2022. The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Boston Celtics at 7:30 p.m. EST while the Los Angeles Lakers player the Golden State Warriors at 10:00 p.m. EST.
