Following the revelation by Karl-Anthony Towns that his mother is in a medically induced coma due to complications with COVID-19, ESPN’s Malika Andrews is now reporting that Towns’ father also has been infected with the virus. Per Andrews’ report, Towns’ father is recovering well from the coronavirus following a stint of hospitalization.
A source close to the Towns family tells @espn Karl Sr., Karl-Anthony Towns’ father who tested positive for COVID-19 and was in the hospital for multiple days, is “recovering well.”

The NBA season is currently on an indefinite hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, which found its first case among active players when Rudy Gobert was revealed to be positive for the virus. Since then, several players including former league MVP Kevin Durant have tested positive for COVID-19.
