A rumor that linked Cleveland Cavaliers star Lebron James to the Golden State Warriors recently blew up and all but destroyed the ‘basketball internet’. He reportedly would be interested in meeting with the Warriors but only if the team made moves to clear up max cap space to potentially fit him on the team.
James went out of his way on Friday afternoon to vehemently shoot down any and all reports linking him to the Warriors or any other team. He won’t talk about it and says to only believe things that come out of his mouth.

It’s not hard to see why James would be mad about this given the Warriors are his biggest rival in his second stint with the Cavs but it goes beyond just that. The King has reportedly told people close to him he will never consider playing for the Warriors because of the impact it would have on his legacy.
Following comes from Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com.
The story says James would take this hypothetical meeting out of “respect.” But in the last 24 hours James has in fact confided in people close to him that he would never join the Warriors — knowing the impact it would have on his legacy.
