Orlando Magic’s center Nikola Vucevic fractured a bone in his left hand and will need surgery. He has been ruled out indefinitely, the Magic announced via Twitter. He will likely be missing 6-8 weeks.

Nikola Vucevic was taken out of the game with 6:57 left in the first quarter. Washington Wizards forward Otto Potter Jr attempted a steal but ended up hitting Nikola’s hand. As a result, he had to leave the game and get an x-ray for his hand. Later on in the game, it was announced that he will require surgery.

Orlando’s 130-109 loss to Washington adds on their losing streak. They’re now on an 8 game losing streak. Orlando has also been hit with several injuries during this season. Evan Fournier, Aaron Gordon, Jonathan Issac, and Terrance Ross all have been injured.

Nikola was having a great season thus far, averaging 17.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, and a career-high 3.6 assists. With the loss, Orlando now sits at 11-23. The young rising team will look to overcome another loss to their beat-up roster. They will play the Miami Heat on Tuesday, December 26th.
