Report: Cavaliers Not Willing To Trade Brooklyn Pick For DeAndre Jordan

The Cleveland Cavaliers arguably most-valuable asset from the Kyrie Irving trade is the Brooklyn Nets first-round pick. The question is if the team will keep the selection or use it as ammunition to get another star player in perhaps LeBron’s last season in Cleveland. One name that has been linked to the Cavaliers is Clippers center Deandre Jordan, the last man standing in Los Angeles after Chris Paul was traded and Blake Griffin sits out with injury. However, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Cavaliers are reluctant to include the Nets pick in a trade for Jordan.

It was reported that the Cavaliers are bracing for James to leave and therefore keeping the draft pick to replenish the team.

Wojnarowski called a Cavs-Clippers trade around Jordan “unlikely”, and not just because the Cavs are unwilling to include that draft pick. He says the Clippers are looking for good young players in addition, something Cleveland does not have surplus of. The Milwaukee Bucks, who do fit the criteria of having draft picks and young talent, have reportedly kicked the tires on Jordan.
