NCAA to adopt The Basketball Tournament’s Postgame Celebration Tradition

The Basketball Tournament has become a huge entity in the basketball world, recently. The summer tournament now held annually has become a fixture for many fans looking for their fix during the NBA offseason.

It appears as though some other leagues are taking notice. In fact, the NCAA is adopting a now famous celebration from TBT to use during March Madness.

Following via Mike Waters of Syracuse.com:

The 2018 NCAA tournament will have a new feature. The NCAA has adopted The Basketball Tournament’s post-game bracket celebration.

After games in The Basketball Tournament, the winning team goes over to a giant replica of the tournament’s bracket. In a fashion that’s part ceremony and part celebration, a member of the team moves a card with the team’s name ahead to the next round of the tournament.

It has fast become a favorite moment for both players and fans alike during The Basketball Tournament.

The NCAA took notice and starting next year the NCAA tournament will do the same thing.

The NCAA’s Director of Media Coordination David Worlock (great name) confirmed the news on Twitter:

This should bring a lot of fun to what is already an exciting event every Spring. More importantly, it’s an awesome sign of TBT’s growth and progress.
