The Golden State Warriors are currently 7-0 in the playoffs on their longest single postseason win streak in franchise history. Unfortunately, their head coach Steve Kerr has not been present in their Western Conference Semifinals series due to back complications. Kerr had a spinal Cord Leak Procedure and remains out indefinitely. He also received surgery on his back two years ago but it seems as if the situation has become serious once again.

We all know that Kerr is a competitor. Hopefully, we see him back on the sidelines before the season is over. He went to see a specialist at Duke University on Friday and he was not in attendance for the Warriors’ 102-91 victory over the Utah Jazz on Saturday. The Warriors managed to take a 3-0 series lead after closing out Game 3 in Salt Lake City.

Assistant coach Mike Brown has taken over as interim head coach during Kerr’s absence. He took on this role for Game 3 of the Western Conference First Round against the Portland Trailblazers and he’s been in this position since. The Warriors’ play has not dipped during Kerr’s absence, but his guidance and leadership are valuable assets to have.
