Dolls From Heaven’s St. Bernadette

Dolls From Heaven has steadily been releasing new 18″ Dolls since their debut back in 2015. Over the years, Dolls From Heaven has given us dolls based on St. Therese, Joan of Arc, Mary of Nazareth and Pope John Paul. They’re expanding on the line yet again with their newest doll, St. Bernadette. Patron saint of illness, people ridiculed for their piety, poverty, shepherds, shepherdesses, and Lourdes, France, St. Bernadette may be familiar with those of you who are classic film fans, as she was the title character in 1943’s The Song of Bernadette.

The basic doll comes with book. Bernadette has dark Brown eyes that open and close, and wavy medium-length dark brown hair. She comes dressed in a pink-striped pleated dress with a grayish-blue apron and brown lace-up boots. She has an open mouth, unlike some of the other dolls in the line.

Bernadette’s Habit includes a black veil, a pleated black dress, black shoes, and a white headdress. You can buy this alone (doll not included) or in a set with the doll, her accessories and this habit.

I love her accessories! Bernadette’s accessories come with a brown fringed shawl, pink striped head wrap, a burgundy rosary, and a prayer card to Our Lady of Lourdes.

Besides Bernadette, I wanted to also talk a bit about their Mary of Nazareth doll. I think she has a really sweet face. Notice, she does not have an open mouth smile like Bernadette. She has dark brown eyes that open and close, and straight medium-length brown hair. She comes dressed in a simple blue pleated dress with a white veil and brown sandals. She, too, comes with a book. Of all the dolls, I think Mary would be the one I’d pick up for myself.

Personally, I really like the idea behind these dolls. It’s hard to find faith based dolls and when they do get produced, it doesn’t seem like they last very long. Dolls From Heaven is a line that I am happy to see survive in our tough doll market. I bought one for my mom a while back. You can see the review below.
