The Spanish kid came to visit Pretoria!
The weather phenomena El Niño (The Kid) and La Niña (the Girl) which occur from time to time have a great influence on weather patterns in the Southern Hemisphere. Due to this occurrence we have had a very short and relatively warm winter and summer has seen temperatures soar into the mid thirties and above. Pretoria has been extremely hot and dry which has had our guests seek out the cool waters of our swimming pool nestled in beautiful gardens with a view over the Silver Lakes Golf Course and surroundings.
Our Monday night Dinners have become ever so popular, especially with the lovely warm weather. A good, old-fashioned South African Braai is a winner on any given day!
Silver Lakes Golf Estate has seen extensive renovations over the past few months and the new Clubhouse is due to open in a few short weeks.
The City is coloured in stunning hues of purple, irrespective the lack of rain. It’s during this time of year the people love to spend time outdoors. There are a number of activities in the City; one that should be noted is the Sisters with Blisters walk. The walk in protest against the abuse woman and children also marks the beginning of 16 days of Activism in support of the platform “No violence against women and children”
Outdoor markets are open over weekends everywhere around the city, but one Market which has never disappointed any visitor to SA and to Pretoria is the Hazel Food Market, open every Saturday between 08h00 and 14h00. This market will afford you a sneak peak to tastes of the world within one morning. Can’t tell you more—you have to experience and explore this for yourself!
But, if you find it too hot during the day to explore the city, the calm and relaxing atmosphere right here at The Lakes Boutique Lodge is just the perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon in the garden or next to the pool….
Don’t forget to have a look at our New Development coming soon!
