The LGBTQ Community Makes DaBaby Beg For Mercy?
Grammy-nominated Dababy was removed from three headlining festival sets following homophobic remarks about AIDS and the Lgbtq Community during the Rolling Loud Festival. The rapper instructed his fans to keep their phones charged during his headlining set. DaBaby (real name Jonathan Kirk) made misleading comments about HIV during his performance at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami in July. DaBaby apologized on Twitter for his initial remarks. He acknowledged that he was being insensitive and that anyone who has been affected by HIV/AIDS "got the right" to be upset. However, he claimed that he had no intention of offending anyone. Several music industry celebrities reacted to the comments. 37.7 Million people have Aids. This is the number of HIV-positive people in the world, as estimated by UNAIDS, an UN-sponsored joint program. 680,000 people died last year from AIDS-related diseases.

He asked fans to raise their phones in the air if they did not have H.I.V., AIDS or another sexually transmitted disease “that’ll make you die in two to three weeks.”
