John Lennon's wife Yoko Ono posted an emotional tribute to the singer marking the 39th anniversary of the Beatles legend's death. In the post, Yoko revealed how she still feels "hollow" and misses him daily. The former Beatle singer was shot and killed outside the couple's Dakota Building apartment in New York on December 8, 1980. John was 40 years old when he was shot dead. Ono in her post says she and his sons still struggle with the untimely death of their beloved husband and father.
"The death of a loved one is a hollowing experience. After 39 years, Sean, Julian and I still miss him. Imagine all the people living life in peace. Yoko Ono Lennon," Yoko Ono tweeted.

She also went on to call on American politicians to change US gun laws. In another tweet, she wrote, "Every day, 100 Americans are shot and killed with guns. We are turning this beautiful country into a War Zone. Together, let's bring back America, the green land of peace."
She also shared a statistic that said over 1,400,000 people have been killed by guns in America since Lennon's death.

Ono, a Japanese-American multimedia artist, singer, songwriter and peace activist was married to John Lennon from 1969 until his murder in 1980. They have a son together, Sean Lennon.
