The film has created ample buzz already, given the fact that it's is inspired by real-life events and various pictures and videos that were leaked. If reports are to be believed, Chhapaak's trailer will be out in the first week of December. Yep, that's it a couple of more days and you will be able to witness a small glimpse of the hard-hitting story. Talking about the film, Chhapaak Deepika Padukone plays Malti in the film. It is based on the real-life acid attack victim Laxmi Agarwal. The film stars Vikrant Massey as the male lead. He plays the character of Amol in Chhapaak which is based on Laxmi's boyfriend Alok Dixit.

Meanwhile, in an interview with DNA, Deepika opened up about how she switched from Malti to Romi Dev for Kabir Khan directorial '83. The diva said, "I've always believed that a character never really leaves your system entirely. This time around, I took to cleaning and organising things around my home to help me cope with switching from Laxmi to Romi Dev in '83. It helped me de-stress and clear my mind of any clutter."
Talking about the release, Chhapaak will end up clashing with Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan's Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero. While Ajay Devgn's film is a period drama, Deepika's Chhapaak is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero is made on a lavish budget of Rs 150 crore.
