Yami Gautam has charmed us all with her acting chops. Be it on the small screen or in films she has been a part of so far, Yami's natural acting has always warmed the audiences' hearts. But did you know, apart from acting, Yami is also passionate about farming? You would have seen pictures which Yami uploads on her Instagram handle from her native place. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Yami Gautam is keen to go back to her roots. Before you misinterpret, Yami is not leaving Bollywood. She has just taken up farming and organic farming at that. The actress has apparently bought a farm in Gohar, Himachal Pradesh, and will be heading there this November to learn organic farming.
Farming had interested Yami very much from the beginning, the actress told Mirror. She revealed that she wanted to gain first-hand knowledge of farming and understand how to minimise the use of fertilisers and medicines. "We started organic farming last year on a small scale. I don't know anything about organic farming technically, and it is something you learn over time. So, after I finish the last schedule of Ginny Weds Sunny in Manali, I'll take off to my farm for four-five days to focus on it. My family will also join me from Chandigarh to help plan the future produce, learn more about eco-friendly equipment and new techniques of farming," Yami said. She further revealed that in the last year, they have grown plums, apples, apricots, ginger, onion and tomatoes.

Yami also opened up as to how her family was always into farming and had maintained a little kitchen garden in their Chandigarh home. That's what sparked Yami's interest in organic farming. "We grew as many vegetables in our backyard as possible, like eggplants, bottle gourd, bitter gourd, chilies and coriander. We used to pluck them fresh and make sabzi. The idea is to eat healthy," Yami reminiscences.
Yami says that she finds farming very therapeutic. "It's so different from what I do, a parallel life I'd love to pursue. When we're busy hustling and bustling through our city life and stress, this process makes you feel closer to nature," Yami asserts.
Yami is keen on becoming an independent entrepreneur. The farming project, is still quite new for her and she had a long path to walk on but the actress plans to expand the same in the future and is currently streamlining all of it.
