Bollywood's two biggies - Mission Mangal and Batla House, which clashed on August 15 during the Independence Day are enjoying their splendid run at the box office. Once again, both the films have proved that if you come up with good content, audience will definitely come in huge numbers to watch your story. Talking about today's occupancy report, both films - Mission Mangal and Batla House have taken a promising start and we are sure that we will see great numbers by the end of the day.
Starting with Mission Mangal, the space drama has raked in Rs 70.02 crore in three days and has taken a flying start in today's morning shows. It has garnered 65-70 per cent occupancy across the country and if the film gains momentum in the night and evening shows, it might enter the Rs 100 crore club in just 4 days. If not, the film will definitely cross the Rs 95 crore mark today. Directed by Jagan Shakti, the film features the ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Sharman Joshi, Nithya Menen, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and Kirti Kulhari. Mission Mangal is based on the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), or the Mangalyaan project launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in November 2013, to put a space probe in planet Mars' orbit.
Coming to John Abraham's Batla House, the cop actioner has collected Rs 35.39 crore in its first 3 days and has taken an encouraging start in the morning shows by getting around 50 per cent occupancy. If the film witnesses substantial growth in evening and night shows, it might touch the Rs 50 crore mark today, which will indeed be a good numbers for the film. Also starring Nora Fatehi and Mrunal Thakur in key roles, it is directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by T-Series, Emmay and JA Entertainment.
