After remaining steady on Friday, John Abraham's Batla House again witnessed a superb growth today at the ticket windows. As per the early estimates, the film has raked in around Rs 12 crore and now stands with the grand total of Rs 37 crore. With strong word of mouth, we are sure that it will cross the Rs 50 crore mark in its extended opening weekend of 4-days. Despite facing stiff competition from Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal, the film has managed to attract a great number of footfalls across the country.
In an EXCLUSIVE interaction with BollywoodLife, John said, "First of all, I want to thank everyone for the fantastic response that they have given to Batla House. Thanks to the audience who have accepted this film wholeheartedly and critics for being so kind to this film because I feel Batla House deserved it. Of course, we have got some Rs 15.5 to 16 cr on day 1 but it would have been Rs 2 cr more, had the prints reached out on time. Judgement from our honourable high court came till 13th (August) evening so it took us a little time to reach out. So, there was a loss of about Rs 1.5- 2 crore on day 1 but it's okay we will make up for it. But, as you said, the response from the audience has been FANTASTIC and it is a relief for me and Nikkhil."
Talking about the reviews, our critic Susri Sahu gave the film 3 stars and wrote, "John Abraham is at his home territory as he portrays the role of a decorated officer and it's nothing we have not seen already. Watch it for the depiction of real life incidents and the obvious cinematic liberties." Anyway, have you liked the film? Tweet to us @bollywood_life.
