Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh BEATS Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger At The Global Box Office

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's Kabir Singh is unstoppable at the ticket windows. Despite facing competition from films like Ayushmann Khurrana's Article 15 and Hrithik Roshan's Super 30, the intense love story is getting a good response from the audience in its fourth week. Till now, the Film has grossed Rs 310.56 crore (nett Rs 263.19 crore) in India and Rs 15 crore in the international markets. It now stands with the grand total of Rs 325.56 crore at the global box office and with this humongous total, it has surpassed the business of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Ek Tha Tiger, which had collected Rs 320 crore in its theatrical run.

Apart from Shahid Kapoor, audience also praised Kiara Advani's performance in the film. Interestingly, Kiara had a no make-up policy for director Sandeep Vanga's upcoming film "Kabir Singh", in which she essays the role of a simple college girl named Preeti. "I'm a directors' actor, so if the director has a certain vision for the character's look then I go with that," Kiara said in a statement.

"Preeti's simplicity and innocence is what makes Kabir fall head over heels for her. Sandeep Sir wanted to capture that purity and also make me look like a 19-year-old first-year student. I'm comfortable being in front of the camera without any make-up, so it felt effortless and the plus point of not having to reach extra early on set for hair and make-up was another plus," she added.

Actor Shahid Kapoor is seen as Dr. Kabir Rajdheer Singh in the film, which is a remake of the popular Telugu movie "Arjun Reddy" that originally starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde, the remake is written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Anyway, do you think the film has the chance to enter the Rs 300 crore club? Tweet to us @bollywood_life.
