January 2019 has started on a fab note. After a lull in the first week of the month which Bollywood stays away from like a plague, films hitting the theatres have managed to interest the audience with a few exceptions. It began with Uri: The Surgical Strike which is still earning and Trade is positive it might just earn Rs 200 crore by the end of its run at the Box Office. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi released last Friday and it has already scored a record for this year. Uri, being the first release of this year, enjoyed a lot of perks on the record tally but not any more. Kangana Ranaut's film has left it behind to score the Highest Opening Weekend of 2019. Uri had earned Rs 35.73 crore in three days but Manikarnika made Rs 42.55 crore in its first weekend. Check out the latest box office collection here...

The Republic Day holiday added a lot of moolah to its kitty. By earning Rs 18.10 crore on that day which was also a Saturday, Manikarnika got a huge boost. Sunday's numbers did dip but it definitely bolstered its growth at the box office. Now the wait is to see how the film performs on the first Monday which will reveal the lifetime number that we can look at.
